To compete in Nordic Deep in Sweden in august every year you need to be member of your national AIDA-organisation. If your country don´t have a AIDA-organisation you can always join AIDA-sweden for 15€.

Ah, sorry, for all those spelling errors - I am unable to type clean, and I always see the mistakes or typos only after posting. And since this interface does not seem to support post editing, they are condamned to stay there!

Not that I would oppose your opinion about CMAS (in fact I often spoke against them in even a harsher way), but we should precise some incorrect claims or unprecise formulations from the above article:

You wrote "if you compete here you need to know that you sell your soul to the devil, because after this it’s forever forbidden to participate in an AIDA competition" - that sounds as if either CMAS or AIDA forbid you from participating in AIDA competitions after you participated on the CMAS championship. I see that it was just a unlucky formulation, but those not familiar with the fact may get confused. The exact opposite is true - if you compete in an AIDA competition (or another non-CMAS) competition _and_ in the same time you are a CMAS member, you may not compete in the same discipline at a CMAS competition. The ban is valid only for the running year, and the only common discipline for AIDA and CMAS is DYF (dynamics with fins), so depth disciplines, or statics play no role.

So if you really want to support the CMAS power usurpators, you can always reject your CMAS membership (if you have any - if you do not have, there is no ban) before participating on an AIDA event. You can then take part on the CMAS championship without any risk of disqualification (as for this issue goes). Some Frenchmen, Italians, Spanish, or Greeks - freedivers in countries where the majority of clubs is practically mandatorily under CMAS, may need to resort to such trick if they want to take part on AIDA competitions, but do want to go on competing with CMAS (their club may require it).
