10:17 Static Or Stunt?

1017.jpgIt’s always funny to see some “freediving” news in the media. This time Hungarian escape artist David Merlini claims a new world record by doing a 10:17 “static” escape stunt. He did this chained and handcuffed today in a glass tank in Hollywood, California. Yesterday he also attempted to break ”the record” (whatever it is) but came out after 1:12 min due to cold water.

So what do we think about it? Ofcourse he didn’t reach it by following the AIDA rules, but it gets media attention. Lots of bubbles in the tank… Maybe David Blaine knows how he did it!

Last summer I was in a same tv show with him about extreme sports/adrenaline ‘rushers’ and he is a joke..honestly he is.
But well connected and somehow has enough money to get in the media.

I did some more research on him and he’s indeed a joke. Big mouth, stupid illusions that other people have done before many times. Nothing special. But… the one who shouts the hardest still gets all the attention!
